These terms are the agreement between you and Hangar Metric when you use the website and the app. By creating an account or using it, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Hangar Metric.
1. What Hangar Metric is
Hangar Metric reads the records you give it (logbooks, receipts, maintenance and engine data, schedules and accounting) and shows figures from them: currency, proficiency, costs, maintenance due dates, and for flight schools, profit and use per aircraft. It also brings in public data, such as weather reports and ADS-B flight tracks, to add to your flights.
2. Not flight, legal or financial advice
Everything Hangar Metric shows is worked out from your records and may be wrong or incomplete: an import can be misread, a record can be missing, a rule can be applied in a way that doesn't fit your case. It is a reminder and a summary, never a legal ruling or a go/no-go decision.
- You remain responsible for your own currency, medical, flight reviews and the airworthiness of any aircraft, under 14 CFR and any other rules that apply to you.
- Maintenance due dates are reminders. Your mechanic and the aircraft's records decide what is due.
- Engine and oil analysis findings, including AI explanations, are prompts for a talk with your mechanic, not a diagnosis.
- Weather, runways and tracks are shown after the fact. Never use them to plan or make a flight.
- Cost and tax figures are estimates. Check with your accountant or tax adviser.
3. The beta
Hangar Metric is in beta. Features can change, move or be removed, and there may be errors or interruptions. Beta testers who joined with an invite code use it free while the beta lasts. We'll tell you by email at least 30 days before the beta ends and what your options are then; nothing is charged unless you choose to subscribe. Feedback you send can be used to improve Hangar Metric, without any obligation to you.
4. Accounts
- You sign in with your Google account. Keep it secure; you're responsible for what happens under your account.
- The person who creates an account is its owner and manages its billing. A flight school's owner decides who else can see its data.
- Give accurate information, and only upload records you have the right to use.
5. Plans, trials and payment
- Pilot accounts: a 30-day free trial with a card required up front, then $9.99 a month. Flight school accounts: a 30-day free trial, then $299 a month.
- When a trial ends, the subscription starts and is charged automatically each month unless you cancel before the trial ends. Prices are in US dollars and exclude any taxes.
- Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.
- You can cancel any time from the Account page. You keep access until the end of the period you paid for (or the trial). Payments already made aren't refunded, except where the law requires it.
- We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice by email. A change applies from your next billing period after the notice.
6. Your data
Your records stay yours. You give Hangar Metric permission to store and process them only to run the service for you, as described in the privacy policy. You can download your data at any time from the Account page, and delete your account there. After a subscription ends, the account's data is kept for 90 days so you can come back, then deleted.
7. Connected services and public data
When you connect QuickBooks, Google Sheets or another service, its own terms apply too, and you can disconnect it at any time. Public data (weather from the Iowa Environmental Mesonet and the Aviation Weather Center, flight tracks from the adsb.lol network, the FAA aircraft registry and airport data, aircraft photos from Planespotters.net) is shown as those sources publish it, with their credits, and may be incomplete.
8. Acceptable use
Don't misuse Hangar Metric: no attempts to reach other accounts' data, to break or overload the service, to copy it to build a competing product, or to upload anything unlawful or that you don't have the right to share. We may suspend an account that does.
9. Availability and changes
We work to keep Hangar Metric running and your data safe, but can't promise it will always be available or error-free. We may change these terms; for a significant change we'll email account owners at least 30 days before it applies. Using Hangar Metric after that means you accept the new terms.
10. Disclaimer and limits of liability
Hangar Metric is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, Hangar Metric isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for decisions made using its figures, and its total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid for Hangar Metric in the 12 months before the claim (or $100 if you paid nothing).
11. Ending
You can stop using Hangar Metric and delete your account at any time. We may end or suspend an account that breaks these terms, or stop offering the service with at least 30 days' notice, giving you the chance to download your data first.
